We are seeking a Community Representative for the school SAC. Please share or circulate the following notice among your community contacts and constituents about this opportunity to serve in our school learning community.
Do you want to know what’s happening in our community, in particular the Madeline Symonds Middle School learning community and contribute in a meaningful way to our education system? School Advisory Councils (SAC) are intended to give community members a say in what’s going on at all levels of the education system on topics ranging from policies to extracurricular programs to fundring and more.
The SAC brings partners together to make decisions and solve problems in the best interest of student learning. All members of the SAC have a voice so that the needs of students are represented and the school is responsible to the community it serves.
Meetings occur a minimum of 6 times per year.
Meetings will run no longer than 90 minutes.
Meetings are open to the public.

There was some interest expressed regarding improvements to water access at McCabe lake.
We are looking into options for having a dock installed at the Sandwick Dr Park on McCabe Lake.
Below are some photos of the current approach to the water, and some potential options for a dock coming off the shore.
Before proceeding with anything, we’re looking for your input.
